Sitz

Sitz, sits or sitsit

A Finnish (and Swedish) academic student event (table parties) where people eat, drink and sing songs. Sitz are ''formal'' happenings with a set programme, conference breaks, and specific rules that everyone must obey. Dresscode is according to the theme of the sitz.

The quality of food and drink is not the point of the event, so don't set your expectations high. Eat properly before you come. And you may bring extra beverage with yourself (depending on venue).

bucketlist

For the first time at the Autumn 2024, ESN Uni Turku presents the Bucket List Challenge.

This means completing various tasks, challenges, visiting unique places and acquiring lifelong experiences.

ESN Uni Turku members receive their pass when acquring their membership (subject to availability). However, if you are a member of another section already, you can also participate in the challenge by purchasing the pass separately in our office.

1) Take a picture of yourself completing the task and come to our office to claim your stamp.

2) Or meet us at an event directly and claim your stamp right away on the spot.

Depending on the number of stamps you collect, you are rewarded with a patch. By the end of completing all challanges you will have gotten 3 patches for your overall which together form the Turku Cathedral, so you don't wanna miss out on having just half cathedrals.

*Terms & Conditions Apply
The pass can be acquired after 01.08.2024 and is subject to availability.
If a pass is lost, it cannot be replaced under any circumstances. You may purchase a new one for full price upon availability. Any person with a valid ESNcard can buy the pass for 7€.
If you are found cheating (e.g., fake or forged stamps, tampered photos, or altered proof of participation), ESN Uni Turku has the right to revoke your pass without any compensation.

Approt

Events where you collect stamps on your appropassi by consuming beverages/ food, or in some cases visiting places and completing tasks.  To attend an Approt, you will need to purchase a ticket prior (they sell out quick), which usually includes an event patch, entry to an after party, and in addition, you will receive a performance patch depending on the number of stamps collected. There are various types of approt, not only those with bars or pubs involved, like culture approt (museums, galleries, etc.), Turku Day Approt (Turku libarary, Castle, etc.), HerkkuApprot (cafes, restaurants, etc).

The biggest Approt in Turku:

  • Aurasoudut (September)
  • Pikkulaskiainen (end of February)
  • Eerikinkadun Approt (April)
  • Wappro (on Vappu week)
  • AATU (Aurariverboats, mid May)
