If you want to experience an authentic Finnish weekend in the nature, with sauna, BBQ, traditional food and activities, the ESN Uni Turku Cottage Weekend is just for you!

On Saturday morning, a bus will take you and your friends to Ahtela, and children's summer camp in Sauvo, where you will be accommodated in traditinal wooden cottages. You will be able to meet us, participate in some fun activities, go swim in the sea after a relaxing wooden sauna.

Food will be provided for lunch, dinner and breakfast, but you should also bring some snacks/drinks of your own – it is advisable to do shopping beforehand, because there are no shops nearby.

On Saturday we prepare an Amazing Cottage Race, during which you will, for example, get to taste some traditional Finnish food! There are also many more exciting tasks for you. The aim of all the activities is to introduce Finnish culture while meeting your new Erasmus buddies.

You will be taught how to bake korvapuusti – traditional cinnamon rolls, yummy! In the evening, a warm sauna will be waiting for you. The day will end with a big party in the main cottage! The local DJs will be very attentive to all your requests. You can also relax in your beds, if you don’t feel like partying, you will not hear any noise from the dance floor. However, we can tell you that it is a lot of fun, and if there are some korvapuusti leftovers after dinner – you might as well want to stop by and grab one or two!

Sign-up fast: only 60 places available for this event. The sign-up is usually full in less than one minute! The cottage weekend is organised every semester. Subscribe to our mailing list and follow us on Facebook to stay updated!
